Contract Number P-11-568-J covering Monthly K-9 Maintenance Training Services is amended
to include the following:
The contract with your company expires September 30, 2014. The County of Fresno desires to
extend this contract for an additional two (2) year period effective October 1, 2014 through
September 30, 2016.
The County of Fresno hereby accepts your price increase notice of two hundred fifty dollars
($250.00) per month, per sixteen (16) hour training session to be effective October 1, 2014 in
accordance with the terms and conditions of our Contract Number P-11-568-J and quotation
dated August 13, 2014 attached. All orders placed prior to September 1, 2014 will be priced
in accordance with current contract pricing.
This renewal covers training for canines for the Probation Department and for the Fresno
Sheriff's Office.
In no event shall services performed and/or fees paid under this Agreement be in excess of
thirty thousand five hundred and fifty dollars ($30,550.00).
This amendment will be effective from October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2016. Prices will
be firm for the contract period. Amendment provisions shall remain in full force and effect with
any contract renewals.
Please acknowledge your acceptance by returning all pages of the signed original of this letter
to my office, retaining a copy for your files.

Subject: Canine Purchase Option and Monthly Maintenance
Hi Jan:
I spoke with Buck Dikes, CEO about providing a 1 year option for the purchase of a canine. He indicated that we could
accept a provision that allows for the purchase with a maximum cost of $10,000 for the purchase of a "green
canine". The option would not include a 5 week Handler Course or monthly maintenance costs, if you desire those
services. If you exercise the option in that period, we would charge whatever our rate is at the time of purchase. As I
indicated to you our current rate is $7,500, but that quote was only good for 30 days.
I also spoke with him about the current monthly maintenance services. As you know, the current contract is for 8 hours
per month@ $175.00 per canine. Somewhere along the line it was changed to 16 hours per canine per month, but it
appears no addendum to the contract was completed. At this time, our monthly training charge for 16 hours per
month is $250.00 per canine. I am sorry, but, we cannot charge $175.00 for 16 hours per month. I recognize that this
may require you to rebid the contract and we would like to participate in that process if that is required.
VCSi appreciates your business and would enjoy the continued opportunity to work with both the Fresno Sheriff and
Probation Departments. Please advise us on your requirements.
