AGREEMENT
Agreement No . 19-562
3 THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 22nd day of Octobe r , 2019 , by and between
4 the COUNTY OF FRESNO, a Po li t ica l Subdiv ision of the State of Cal ifornia, here inafter referred to as
5 "COUNTY", and Fresno Humane Animal Services , a California Non-Profit Pub li c Benefit Corporat ion ,
6 whose address is 2789 S. Orange Ave , Fresno , California 93725 here inafter referred to as "FHAS ".
7 W I T N E S S E T H:
8 WHEREAS, COUNTY has a need for an experienced animal control serv ice provider that provides
9 sheltermaster, shelter and emergency veterinary services for an imals from the unincorporated areas of the
10 COUNTY, as authorized and required by Food and Agricultural Code , Sections 31105 , 31106 , Penal Code ,
11 Sect ion 597f, and Fresno County Ord inance Code , Chapters 9.04 through 9.12 ; and
12 WHEREAS , COUNTY has a further need for services to enforce the COUNTY 's dog licensing and
13 control ord inance in Chapte rs 9.04 through 9.12 of the COUNTY 's Ord inance Code and the laws of the
14 State of Californ ia perta ining to animal control ; and
15 WHEREAS , COUNTY therefore has a need for prov iding the serv ices requ ired by law (the
16 foregoing animal control, sheltermaster, shelter, veterinary, and leash laws enforcement services , shall be
17 collectively referred to as "Serv ices "); and
18 WHEREAS , the shelter site and primary locat ion for delivery of Services will be located on
19 COUNTY owned property : 760 W . Nielsen , Fresno , Ca liforn ia 93706 ; and
20 WHEREAS, property has been purchased for a future shelter located at West Dan Ronqu illo Drive
21 (APN 's 458-270-15 & 458-060-61 ); and
22 WHEREAS , FHAS is engaged in the business of prov id ing the Services , and represents to
23 COUNTY that FHAS possesses un ique and superior knowledge, skill, resources , and expert ise to be able
24 to provide the Services , and is fully competent and authorized in such matters , and will take all necessary
25 and appropr iate action and employ all necessary and appropriate resources , equipment, expertise and
26 personnel to fully perform the Services , holding any and all imp licated licenses , perm its , perm iss ions and/or
27 approval ; and

1 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Agreement as of the day and year
2 first here inabove written.
