Make the following changes to the plans and specifications or do work not in the plans and specifications for
this contract. Because of the change(s), ZERO (0) -WORKING DAYS will be added to the contract timeline.
MODIFIY TEMPORARY RAILING (TYPE K) PLAN -VALUE ENGINEERING CHANGE PROPOSAL
This change was proposed by the contractor.
In accordance with Section 4-1.07, "Value Engineering," of the Standard Specifications, accept a value
engineering change proposal (VECP) per the revised temporary railing (Type K) plan (attached). This VECP
reduces Bid Item No. 6, Temporary Railing (Type K), by 720.00 LF and Bid Item No. 7, Temporary Crash
Cushion Modules by 2.00 EA, resulting in a total saving of$49,360. This amount will be adjusted in Bid Item
Nos. 6 and 7. The contractor's 50-percent share of the total savings ($49,360/2 = $24,680), $24,680 will be
paid as extra work.

The contractor's 50-percent share of the total savings, $24,680 will be paid as extra work.
This VECP resulted in a decrease of$24,680.
This VECP did not impact the critical path of the project, therefore, granting additional contract time was not
warranted.
