1 INTER-DEPARTMENTAL AGREEMENT
2 THIS INTER-DEPARTMENTAL AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 1st day of
3 May , 2025, and is between the COUNTY OF FRESNO, DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES,
r HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "DSS", and the COUNTY OF FRESNO, PROBATION
5 DEPARTMENT, hereinafter referred to as "PROBATION", and FRESNO SHERIFF OFFICE,
6 hereinafter referred to as "FSO".
7 WITNESSETH:
8 WHEREAS, it is known, that two (2) Victim Advocates from Probation occupy space in DSS
9 Building 3.
10 WHEREAS, it is known, that four (4) FSO detectives occupy space in DSS Building 3.
11. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of their mutual covenants and conditions, the parties
12 hereto agree as follows:
13 1. SERVICES
1' A. DSS works in collaboration with Probation and FSO but there are no mandated
15 or paid services required by DSS with Probation and FSO.
16 2. TERM
17 A. This Inter-Departmental Agreement shall become fully effective when fully
18 executed and continue in full force and effective until either party notifies the other of its intention for
19 termination for any reason upon thirty (30) day advance written notice_
20 3. TERMINATION
21 A. Without Cause - Under circumstances other than those set forth above, this
22 Interdepartmental Agreement may be terminated by either party upon the giving of thirty (30) days
2.3 advance written notice of an intention to terminate.
2 4. COMPENSATION
25 A. There are no monies involved with this Agreement. This is a mutual agreement
26 between DSS, and all parties, that DSS will house personnel from Probation and FSO. DSS will not
27 be liable for cost of any equipment, supplies, and/or technical assistance requested from Probation or
28 FSO personnel housed by DSS.
5. MODIFICATION
2 Any matters of this Inter-Departmental Agreement may be modified from time to time by
the written consent of DSS, Probation, and/or FSO without, in any way, affecting the remainder.
4 6. ASSIGNMENT AND SUBCONTRACTS
5 Neither party shall assign, transfer, or subcontract this Inter-Departmental Agreement
6 nor their rights or duties under this Agreement without the prior written consent of the other party.
7. RELATIONSHIP OF PARTIES
8 It is understood that this is an Inter-Departmental Agreement by and between three (3)
9 separate departments of the County of Fresno and is not intended to and shall not be construed to
10 create a relationship of agent, servant, employee, partnership, joint venture, or association.
1 8. GOVERNING LAW
12 The rights and obligations of the parties and all interpretation and performances of this
13 Inter-Departmental Agreement shall be governed in all respects by all Federal, State, and local
14 statutes and regulations.
15 9. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
1.6 This Inter-Departmental Agreement, including all Exhibits, constitutes the entire Inter-
17 Departmental Agreement between DSS, Probation, and FSO with respect to the subject matter hereof,
18 and supersedes all previous agreements, negotiations, proposals, commitments, writings,
19 advertisements, publications, and understandings of any nature whatsoever unless expressly included
20 in this Inter-Departmental Agreement.

1 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Inter-Departmental
Agreement to be executed by their signatures below.
