Re: California Department of Public Health's Expansion Laboratory Capacity, Notice of Award
Termination and Termination of All Associated Subcontracts
Dear John,
The County of Fresno (County), through its Department of Public Health (Department), was a recipient
of an award from California Department of Public Health's (State), which provided the opportunity for
the Department to contract with local partners to provide COVID-19 mitigation services through
community health workers. Due to the Department's recent correspondence from the State agency,
State funding is no longer available to support CHW programming and termination of all funds was
effective as of March 24th, 2025. The County is providing notice to its subcontractors funded under this
Agreement to possibly invoke Article 6.1 Termination clause under the non-allocation of funding. Please
submit all invoices, along with relevant supporting documents, under this Agreement term through
March 24th, 2025 by April loth, 2025. At this time, the Department is evaluating other potential funding
sources to support future programming in the next 30 days and will reach out to your organization if
other funding is established.
During these uncertain times, the Department remains committed in serving Fresno County residents
through its focus on providing upstream community health interventions and fostering partnerships.
Additionally, Program staff will be in contact to establish close out activities, as applicable, and further
reporting requirements.
