HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgreement A-17-406 with CASA.pdfAgreement No. 17-406 1 AGREEMENT 2 This Agreement ("Agreement") is made and entered into this 8th day of August 3 2017, by and between the COUNTY OF FRESNO, a political subdivision ofthe State of California, 4 hereinafter referred to as "COUNTY", and COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES OF 5 FRESNO AND MADERA COUNTIES, a private non-profit organization, whose address is 1252 6 Fulton Mall, Fresno, CA 93721, hereinafter referred to as "CONTRACTOR". 7 WI T N E S S E T H: 8 WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of 42 United States Code sections 629, et seq. 9 ("Promoting Safe and Stable Families"), COUNTY desires to participate in and fund Family 10 Preservation, Family Support and Time-Limited Reunification services to facilitate timely and 11 permanent safe and stable placement for children removed from home, and to strengthen reunified 12 families through the provision of activities that improve physical and mental health, keep homes and 13 neighborhoods safe, support children's academic performance and help families become economically 14 self-sufficient; and 1 5 WHEREAS, COUNTY, pursuant to Division 9, Part 6, Chapter 11 , of the California Welfare 16 and Institutions Code [WIC] (hereafter "CAP IT Legislation") and the rules and regulations of the 1 7 California Department of Social Services, desires to participate in and fund Child Abuse Prevention, 18 Intervention and Treatment (CAPIT) services for children who are at high risk of abuse or neglect and 19 their families; and 20 WHEREAS, COUNTY, pursuant to Title II of the federal Child Abuse Prevention and 21 Treatment Act (CAPT A) Amendments of 1996 and reauthorized in June 2003 , desires to participate 2 2 and fund Community Based Child Abuse Prevention Programs (CBCAP) aimed at the prevention of 2 3 child abuse and neglect; and 2 4 WHEREAS, CONTRACTOR is willing and able to provide Promoting Safe and Stable 2 5 Families (PSSF), CAPIT and/or CBCAP services needed by COUNTY, pursuant to the terms of this 2 6 Agreement. 27 NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration oftheir mutual covenants and conditions, the 2 8 parties hereto agree as follows: -1 -COUN'lYOI' l·llliSNO Fres no , CA 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 1 6 1'7 18 1 9 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 IN WITNESS WHEREOF. the parties hereto have executed this Agreement as of the day and year first hereinabove written .
