AGREEMENT
Agreement No. 17-263
3 THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 20th day of June , 2017 , by and
4 between the COUNTY OF FRESNO , a polit ical s ubdiv ision of the State of California , hereinafter
5 referred to as "COUNTY", and the Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County ,
6 whose address is 906 "N" Street, Suite 120 , F resno , CA 93721 , hereinafter referred to as
7 "CONTRACTOR".
8 W I T N E S S E T H:
9 WHEREAS , the CONTRACTOR is implementing a broad based economic strategy to
10 improve economic conditions in Fresno County ; and
11 WHEREAS , the COUNTY has adop ted an Economic Development Strategy and the
12 Economic Development Element of the Fresno County General Plan to create jobs , diversify the
13 economy and improve the skills of the workforce in Fresno County; and
14 WHEREAS , the CONTRACTOR in coordination with the County Administrative Office
15 is also responsible for implementing pol icies and programs of the Economic Development
16 Element of the General Plan ; and
17 WHEREAS , on August 9 , 2011 , the Board of Supervisors of the COUNTY approved
18 assignment of the COUNTY'S current economic development responsibilities to the
19 CONTRACTOR , including but not limited to the management of the administration of the
20 COUNTY'S Blue Ribbon Bus iness Committee , and implementation of the COUNTY'S
21 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy ; and
22 WHEREAS , in early 2013 , the Blue Ribbon Business Committee was disbanded ;
23 and , after consultation with the CONTRACTOR , replaced by a newly created "Strategy
24 Committee "; and
25 WHEREAS , the CONTRACTOR has provided and will continue to provide
26 administration of the Strategy Committee ; and
27 WHEREAS , it is recogn ized by the Board of Supervisors of the COUNTY that
28 reductions in unemployment and underemployment through said economic development goals

1 IN WITNESS WHEREOF , the parties hereto have executed this Agreement as of the day
2 and year first hereinabove written .
