Because of the change(s), ZERO (0) -WORKING DAYS will be added to the contract time. PART I: REVISE PATHWAY PROFILE GRADES ALONG VALENTINE AVENUE — EXTRA WORK This change was requested by the engineer. In accordance with Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work" of the Standard Specifications, revise pathway profile grades along Valentine Avenue between sta. 7+20 and sta. 9+80. This change requires placing, grading, and compacting approximately 25 CY for fill to raise to profile grades as shown on the revised Plan Sheet L1. Use native surplus materials for this work. Perform all working according to Section 19, "Earthwork," of the Standard Specifications and Special Provisions. Compensation for this work will be made as extra work at force account according to Section 9-1.03, "Payment Scope," of the Special Provisions. Total compensation for this work resulted in $2,342.51, this amount will be paid as extra work. This extra work did not impact the critical path for the project, therefore, granting additional contract time was not warranted. TOTAL COST PART I: A $2,342.51 INCREASE TOTAL TIME EXTENSION PART I: ZERO (0) -WORKING DAYS PART II: INSTALL TRUNCATED DOME PANELS OVER CONCRETE FOOTING — EXTRA WORK This change was requested by the engineer. According to Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work," of the Standard Specifications, install truncated domes over a 6-inch concrete slab in lieu of the asphalt pavement at various locations shown on the plans. Perform all work according to the various sections of the Standard Specifications and Special Provisions. Compensation for this work will be made as extra work at force account according to Section 9-1.03, "Payment Scope," of the Special Provisions. Total compensation for this work resulted in $15,008.67, this amount will be paid as extra work. This extra work did not impact the critical path for the project, therefore, granting additional contract time was not warranted. According to Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work," of the Standard Specifications, furnish and place 6- inch Class 2 Aggregate Base layer (approximately 10 CY) at the intersection of Annadale and Valentine Avenues and driveway approaches along Valentine Avenue at sta. 13+44 and sta. 22+22. Perform all work according to Section 26, "Aggregate Bases," of the Standard Specifications. Compensation for this work will be made at the unit bid price for Bid Item No. 13, Class 2 Aggregate Base (F) according to Section 9-1.03, "Payment Scope," of the Special Provisions, resulted in an increase of$3,800. TOTAL COST PART III: A $3,800 INCREASE TOTAL TIME EXTENSION PART III: ZERO (0) -WORKING DAYS PART IV: INSTALL 8-INCH STEEL PIPE, CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL HMA DIKE, AND EXCAVATE/GRADE DRAINAGE DITCHES— EXTRA WROK This change was requested by the engineer. According to Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work," of the Standard Specifications, install approximately 26 LF of 8-inch metal pipe, install approximately 5.5 LF of hot mix asphalt (HMA) dike, and excavate/grade approximately 150 LF of a drainage ditch between sta. 20+21 and sta. 21+71, along the northside of North Avenue as shown on the attached Plan Sheet C-3. Also grade/excavate approximately 640 LF of a drainage ditch between sta. 10+10 and sta. 16+50 along the west side of Valentine Avenue, as shown on the attached Plan Sheets C-3, L1, and L2. Perform all work according to the various sections of the Standard Specifications and Special Provisions. Compensation for this work will be made as extra work at force account according to Section 9-1.03, "Payment Scope," of the Special Provisions. Total compensation for this work resulted in $22,283.87, this amount will be paid as extra work. This change did not impact the critical path for the project, therefore, granting additional contract time was not warranted. Adjust compensate per the methods established in the Standard Specifications and Special Provisions Section 9-1.07 for fluctuations greater than or less than five percent in the California Statewide Crude Oil Price Index for the month the material was placed, when compared to the index published for the month of the bid opening. The California Statewide Crude Oil Price Index for the bid opening month, October 2022, was 497.40. The index was 446.1 in May 2023, which applies to the Pay Estimate No. 5 for the quantity of asphalt in the HMA. The asphalt content in the1/2-inch HMA mix from the Calaveras Materials, Inc. plant was 5.07 percent. The percent was reduced to 4.29 percent to account for the 15 percent reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP). The adjustment applies to 582 tons of 1/2-inch HMA placed in May 2023. The asphalt content in the 3/8-inch HMA dike mix from Vulcan-Ashlan plant was 6.40 percent. The adjustment applies to 11.96 tons of 3/8-inch HMA placed in May 2023. The total adjustment compensation for price index fluctuation is being made at an agreed price in accordance with Section 9-1.03, "Payment Scope" of the Special Provisions, resulting in a decrease of $736.17. This amount will be deducted from the monies due to the contractor. This change did not impact the critical path for the project, so additional contract time was not warranted. TOTAL COST PART V: A $736.17 DECREASE TOTAL TIME EXTENSION PART V: ZERO (0) -WORKING DAYS PART VI: INCREASE/DECREASE/ELIMINATE ITEMS AT UNIT PRICES Item quantities in the Bid Book and subsequent change orders are estimates only.
