AGREEMENT
3 THIS AGREEMENT . ("Agreement") is made and ente red into this.!_9th day of November ,
4 2019 ("Effective Date"), by and between the COUNTY OF FRESNO, a political subdivision of the State of
5 California ("COUNTY"). and KINGS CANYON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, whose address Is 1801 10th
6 Street, Reedley, CA 93654 , rcoNTRACTOR• or "KINGS CANYON USD'i .
7 W I T N ES S E TH:
8 WHEREAS, some students attending KINGS CANYON USO are court wards on probation;
9 and
10 WHEREAS . COUNTY is unable to fund sufficient Deputy Probation Officer positions for the
11 purpose of assignments to oversee students attending KINGS CANYON USO ; and
12 WHEREAS , KINGS CANYON USO desires that services from the Fresno County Probation
13 Department be provided to stUdents attending KINGS CANYON USO and is willing to provide partiai
14 funding for that purpoee; and
15 WHEREAS, COUNTY is able to fund the remaining costs for two (2) Deputy Probation
16 Officers with Juven ile Justice Crime Prevention Act (" JJCPA ") funds .
17 NON, THEREFORE. in respect of mutual promises conlained herein, the Parties agree as
18 follows :
19 1. OBUGATIONSOFFUSD :
20 KINGS CANYON USO shall compensate and remi~ payment to COUNTY, as provided
21 herein , a total annual compensation amount not to exceed seventy-fi1Je thousand dollars ($75,000) during
22 the term of this Agreement, in accordance with Section 5, hereil.
23 2 . OBLIGATIONS OF COUNTY:
24 COUNTY shall assign two (2) Deputy Probation Officers to be responsible for ordinary
25 probation se,vicu on a ful•time basis at KINGS CANYON USO schc ol sites in City of R~ley/City of
26 Orange CovelCOYnty of Fresno, as determined by mutual written agreement of KINGS CANYON USO and
27 COUNTY's Chief Probation Officer, while this Agreement is in effect and in force . COUNTY shell also
28 make every effort to provide a Deputy PrObation Officer to attend and part icipate in Mega School
