PART II: ADJUST COMPENSATION FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL ASSOCIATED WITH ADDITIONAL
UNSOUND CONCRETE AT FAIRFAX AVENUE BRIDGE— EXTRA WORK
This request was made by the contractor.
In accordance with Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work," of the Standard Specifications, adjust
compensation for the traffic control associated with the additional unsound concrete work performed at
the Fairfax Avenue bridge. Compensation for the removal and patch-back of the unsound concrete was
paid through Bid Items Nos. 10 and 11. Compensation for the associated temporary traffic control will
be made as extra work at Force Account according to Section 9-1.03, "Payment Scope," of the Special
Provisions. Compensation for the additional traffic control resulted in $1681.68. Also, compensation for
the additional mobilization will be made as extra work at an agreed lumpsum price of$450 according to
Section 9-1.03, "Payment Scope,"of the Special Provisions. Total compensation adjustment resulted in
$2,131.68.
This compensation adjustment did not impact the critical path for the project, therefore, granting additional
contract time was not warranted.

PART III: GRIND PAVEMENT TAPERS AT FAIRFAX AVENUE BRIDGE— EXTRA WORK

In accordance with Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work," of the Standard Specifications, grind
approximately 37 feet of the asphalt pavement on both sides of the bridge on Fairfax Avenue in order to
transition existing pavement to the proposed polyester concrete grade. Compensation for this work will be
made at an agreed lump sum price of$5,700, in accordance with Section 9-1.03, "Payment Scope," of the
Special Provisions. This price includes compensation of all labor, materials, equipment, overhead costs,
markups, and incidentals for performing this work, no additional compensation will be allowed.
This compensation adjustment did not impact the critical path for the project, therefore, granting additional
contract time was not warranted.
TOTAL COST PART III: A $5,700.00 INCREASE
TOTAL TIME EXTENSION PART III: ZERO (0) -WORKING DAYS
PART IV: GRIND MATCH POINTS AND PAVE BACK BRIDGE APPROACHES ON FAIRFAX AVENUE—
EXTRA WORK
This change was requested by the Engineer.
In accordance with Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work," of the Standard Specifications, grind match
points to 0.12-feet depth on both sides of the bridge and at the match points to the existing pavement, and
pave back approximately 37 feet of the bridge approaches on Fairfax Avenue. Use the previously approved
mix design for the hot mix asphalt. Compensation for this work will be made at an agreed lump sum price of
$24,000, in accordance with Section 9-1.03, "Payment Scope," of the Special Provisions. This price includes
compensation of all labor, materials, equipment, overhead costs, markups, and incidentals for performing this
work, no additional compensation will be allowed.
This compensation adjustment did not impact the critical path for the project, therefore, granting additional
contract time was not warranted.
TOTAL COST PART IV: A $24,000.00 INCREASE
TOTAL TIME EXTENSION PART IV: ZERO (0) -WORKING DAYS
PART V: GRANT A TIME EXTENSION
This time extension was requested by the contractor.
According to Section 8-1.0713, "Time Adjustments," of the Special Provisions, grant a 69-working days'
time extension to the allotted contract time due to the unsuitable (cold)weather conditions for the
placement of the polyester concrete overlay between December 27, 2022, and March 2, 2023.
