Make the following changes to the plans and specifications or do work not in the plans and specifications for this
contract. Because of the change(s), (ZERO) 0 -WORKING DAYS will be added to the contract time.
ALLOW BID ITEM NO. 9 — CLEARING AND GRUBBING (REMOVE TREES) WORK TO BE PERFORMED
DURING THE FIRST ORDER OF WORK, SUBMITTALS
This change was proposed by the engineer.
In accordance with Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work," of the Standard Specifications, allow for Bid Item
No. 9—Clearing and Grubbing (Remove Trees)work to be performed under the First Order of Work, Submittals
phase. The work can commence as soon as the Water Pollution Control Program (WPCP) and the necessary
traffic control plan are approved.
This change did not impact the critical path for the project, therefore, granting additional contract time was not
warranted.

DESCRIPTION:
Allow Bid Item No. 9 — Clearing and Grubbing (Remove Trees) work to be performed during the
First Order of Work, Submittals.
WHY:
The County of Fresno staff desired to remove trees prior to the birds' nesting season. Therefore,
it was necessary to allow the contractor to perform Bid Item No. 9— Clearing and Grubbing
(Remove Trees) work during the First Order of Work, Submittals phase.
HOW:
This change is being made in accordance with Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work," of the
Standard Specifications, at no additional cost to the contract.
