TO: YARBS GRADING AND PAVING, INC:
Make the following changes to the plans and specifications or do work not in the plans and specifications for
this contract. Because of the change(s), ZERO(0) -WORKING DAYS will be added to the contract time.
INCREASE BID ITEM NO. 1
This change was requested by the engineer.
In accordance with Section 4-1.05, "Changes and Extra Work,"of the Standard Specifications, increase Bid
Item No. 1, Supplemental Work(Payment Adjustment for Price Index Fluctuations) by$346,418. This increase
resulted due to the California Statewide Crude Oil Index increased approximately by 50 percent from the bid
opening month. The index for bid opening month,August 2021,was 403.9; and the index was 622.0 for the
month of April 2022 and 596.7 for the month of May 2022,which applies to the pay estimates for the quantity
of oil (asphalt)being compensated for these months. This additional amount was approved by the Board of
Supervisors on May 17, 2022.
