HOMELESSNESS (PATH) INITIAL ALLOCATION

This letter transmits the SFY 2017-18 Initial Allocation Worksheet (Enclosure I) for the
Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) Formula Grant. Counties
must incur expenditures before receiving payments from their PATH allocation.
Please be advised that there has been a slight increase to your county's allocation.
Your enclosed initial allocation worksheet reflects this revised amount. Submission
of revised program budgets reflecting the increased allocation is not required.
Payments are based on actual expenditures documented on quarterly expenditure reports,
due to the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) 20 days after each quarter:
October 20, January 20, April 20 and July 20. Counties must have all SFY 2017-18 PATH
funds expended by June 30, 2019 and will have until July 20, 2019 to submit quarterly
expenditure reports. Counties that do not submit their quarterly expenditure reports for
SFY 2017-18 by July 20, 2019, will not be reimbursed. Submit quarterly expenditure
reports by email to PATH@dhcs.ca.gov.
Pursuant to federal law, the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness
Formula Grant must be used to provide specific services for adults with a mental illness or
co-occurring disorder who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless, as
defined in federal statutes.

I, the undersigned Director, have accepted the Federal PATH funds for the county under the
specific conditions included in the assurances as part of the County Application Package (CAP)
as well as those conditions established by other governing federal and state laws, policies
regulations, and guidelines. The CAP, as approved by DHCS, will be followed in expending
these funds.
